Blade Blank Hatchet

This hatchet blank is ideal for honing your skills as a knife maker. It’s supplied with a brass guard and holed tang, ready for fitting to the handle of your choice. From spring steel, this blank will be straightforward to finish.

The head is 10.4 cm wide, 6.6cm along the cutting edge, 5.3 cm along the back of the head. Shaft length, 8cm. Guard, 2cm long, tang, 5cm.

When handled, the tool will need finishing and sharpening – the factory edge is decent, but not as sharp as it could be in the finished article.
